Rustic MAKA is a family business. Kasia and her sisters grew up in Warsaw, Poland. Their mother, Anna, taught them how to live in harmony with one another and nature. Their lives were filled with family gatherings, home-cooked meals, and camping trips. Anna raised the girls on using natural remedies for bodily ailments such as  applying chamomile water to sensitive skin or soaking dry hands in potato starch and water. Their first product as a family business was a natural deodorant. You see, Kasia developed a problem that the family turned to nature to solve. Kasia was “the stinky sister,” who could not find a product available anywhere to battle her body odor. But according to Kasia, “This embarrassing problem has been a blessing in disguise. Creating something that worked in tune with my body was the beginning of something greater than I ever imagined.” Kasia, her sisters, and their mother spent countless hours researching ingredients and mixing up numerous batches in the family kitchen. When they finally hit on something that was simple, healthy, and effective on her odor, they involved some professional formulators to perfect the recipe to take to market. Today, their deodorants are still their bread and butter, but they offer a variety of other natural beauty care products that are just as simple and effective.
