Poke Root – Root of Courage, Clearing & Transformation

Deep beneath the towering stalks and dark purple berries of the pokeweed plant rests a formidable root steeped in American folk tradition. Poke Root is associated with courage, purification, breaking through stagnant conditions, and establishing strong spiritual boundaries.

Bold and commanding in character, Poke Root is traditionally approached as a botanical of clearing and transformation—a reminder that sometimes growth requires releasing what can no longer remain.

Botanical Identity:
Poke Root comes from Phytolacca americana, commonly known as American Pokeweed, Pokeberry, or Poke. Native to eastern North America, this striking perennial develops a substantial fleshy taproot beneath its distinctive reddish-purple stems and clusters of deep purple berries.
